yum

To continue my esteemed series of posts about yogurt, I just need to point out that Cascade Fresh Fat Free Cherry Vanilla is the most delicious yogurt ever. So good. I can't figure out what the secret is.

I've had Yann Tiersen's "Les Jours Tristes" stuck in my head nonstop for about two days. It is such a great song. The anthemic orchestration includes accordion, banjo and something that sounds like a celesta, toy piano or glockenspiel. So it already has a lot going for it. But on top of that, the guy from The Divine Comedy is sing-speaking the following words in a determined tone:

It’s hard,
but you know it’s worth the fight,
'cause you know you’ve got the truth on your side.
When the accusations fly,
hold tight!
Don’t be afraid of what they’ll say.
Who cares what cowards think anyway?
They will understand some day,
some day.

It's difficult to discern whether this song is ironic. The over-the-top anthemic sound and cliched lyrics suggest it may be. Yet I also find it uplifting, so much so that I like to play it very loud in the car, drum on the steering wheel in triple-time and sign along at the top of my voice. I particularly relish yelling "Who cares what cowards think anyway?" So I somehow absorb both the irony and the honesty.

It turns out the celesta is an idiophone, as is the daxophone. Apparently this guy plays the daxophone. His site is quite odd. If you figure it out, let me know. Also read about the sole virtuoso of the nail violin. Wikipedia, I wuv you.
