Washington Post: "Religious Affiliation Underestimated in U.S., Study Shows."
Today's Daily Dharma: "One of the most common analogies used to describe the Buddha-nature is space itself."
I just drove into Philly tonight. I've never been here. Recommendations for what to do with my time are welcome. I could really eat a piece of pizza right now, it has suddenly occurred to me, but I will not. I try not to eat or otherwise consume calories after 9 p.m., though I do make exceptions for the ambrosia that drips from the fingers of odalisques. Surely you've tried it.
Here's the plan. Do zazen. Read. Sleep. Wake up. Finish the second lesson of two lessons about podcasting I'm writing for a curriculum about radio, to be used in high schools in Washington, D.C. Go to the hotel I'll stay in the rest of the week. Then, explore. Top of the wish list is the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I am hopeful to find there Marcel Duchamp's The Bride Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, Even, aka, The Large Glass, which I have hankered to see since my days in the salt mines. Also, to find good beer. This place must be stinking with it. There is, I am sure, a river of good beer coursing shamelessly through the center of the city, and from it I will sup. 'Sup?

had no idea you were in philly last month - next time be sure to let me know. btw i hear that Monk's has some amazing beer and frites!
dude! yeah, I knew you were there and wanted to see you, but I was really busy once the conference I was attending got underway. You have several good vegetarian Chinese restaurants, I found. And Monk's does indeed have some good beer (I didn't go for the frites).
